A West End and Broadway hit that had critics jumping up and down with excitement, Urinetown is a rampant riot of a show that tells the tale of a town fit to burst. Peeing is a privilege and no relief is rent free until hero, Bobby Strong arrives to start a revolution. A resonating tale of greed, love and corruption; perfectly packaged as a satirical musical send-up. This time, the show is taken on by a cast of Musical Theatre masters students at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Urinetown is at the Assembly Hall, Edinburgh, from 6th to 31st August.
Greg Kotis conceived the original idea for Urinetown after encountering a pay-per-use toilet whilst travelling in Europe. He began writing the award-winning Book shortly after, joining with Mark Hollmann, composer and lyricist. Urinetown was nominated for 10 Tony awards, winning for best book, score and direction.
