Ross and Rachel

August 6, 2015 - August 31, 2015

Ross and Rachel Ed Fringe 2015

Designed by Alison Neighbour
Directed by Thomas Martin
Produced by Motor Theatre
Written by James Fritz

World Premiere of Ross and Rachel, a duologue for one performer.

‘I can’t stop staring at the couples. Who will leave? Who will cheat? Who will die first? Her. Her. Him.’ …

A dark and uncompromising new play about romance, expectation and mortality, Ross and Rachel tells the mind-bending, heartbreaking story of what happens when a couple that was always meant to be together, gets together. And stays together. It explores the idea of ‘happy ever after’ sold to us by rom-coms and sitcoms, whether it is Ross and Rachel (Friends) or Romeo and Juliet, and how this affects our real relationships.

In this disquieting duologue for one performer, 2015 Olivier Award nominee James Fritz (4m12s, Hampstead) takes an unflinching look at the myths of modern love. World premiere.
‘My favourite new play of the year’ (ExeuntMagazine.com, on James Fritz’s Lines).

Produced by MOTOR; supported by English Touring Theatre Forge, and developed with the support of Old Vic New Voices Lab, Shoreditch Town Hall, the Peggy Ramsay Foundation, Andrew Lloyd Webber Trust, and Tristan Bates Theatre.
