From Achluophobia, the fear of the dark, through Erotophobia, the fear of sex, to Soceraphobia, the fear of the in-laws and Zeusophobia, the fear of God, the MA Theatre Lab explores
FEAR, our most persistent and most powerfully unsettling emotion. It can energise, save or destroy. It can paralyse and it can coax people into feats of unimaginable bravery, cowardice, good, or evil.
FEAR is paramount today, coming at us from everywhere: the outside world, gripped as it is by political, economical and environmental crises that get updated every second on our smartphones, and from inside our very own minds, the infinite breeding ground for our personal deep-residing demons.
Are we drowning in fear as we struggle desperately to rediscover the sense of security and belonging our parents once gave us? Or did they?
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
RADA MA Theatre Lab is a unique course in the field of theatre and performance practice. The MA allows students with a strong, demonstrable background in performance to re-examine and broaden their skills in a truly experimental and highly collaborative framework. The emphasis throughout the year is on devised and ensemble work, as you will advance your understanding of performance from a post-Stanislavski standpoint.
The course, validated by King’s College London, one of the world’s top 20 universities, explores non-mainstream theatre craft internationally.
