April 7, 2016 - April 9, 2016
Designed by Alison Neighbour
Produced by Little Soldier Productions in association with HOME
Award-winning Spanish theatre company Little Soldier Productions invite you to join us in the live recording of a concept album about social change. Using elements of physical theatre, storytelling, intimate confession and live music, Derailed is about politics and rock & roll. (Or maybe it’s just about rock & roll).
This is not an advert. We’re not campaigning for a political party. We’re not sure what we think or what we want. We don’t even really know how to play these instruments. There are strong convictions but no plan. Just yet. Little Soldier presents a show about how to change the world. Hopefully. Maybe.
Developed at Battersea Arts Centre (scratch night on 24th of March at BAC -London- 9pm)
PREVIEWS AT HOME- (Manchester)- 7th, 8th and 9th of April 8pm
Little Soldier was founded in 2010 to promote innovative cross-cultural artistic collaborations. We use physical comedy, devising techniques and live music to produce funny yet touching shows, exploiting our Spanish backgrounds and English setting to create an individual take on new writing and classic texts.
Little Soldier is led by award winning actresses Patricia Rodríguez and Mercè Ribot, who trained respectively at Philippe Gaulier and East 15 Contemporary Theatre Course. They are the driving force behind each project; bringing together the team, sharing the vision and setting the goals. The company is supported by independent producer Bridget Floyer.
Our recent production, ‘The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha’, supported by ACE G4ta and Jacksons Lane Theatre, received The Stage Award for Acting Excellence at the Edinburgh Fringe 2014, was in The Stage’s pick of 2014, was included in Lyn Gardner’s weekly pick of the Fringe for three weeks running, and received 5* from The Stage, Broadway Baby, Edinburgh Spotlight and 4* from Time Out, Exeunt, A Younger Theatre and The Skinny. Our spring 2015 tour for the show included performances at The Drum, Plymouth, Jacksons Lane, London, as well as in Warsaw, Poland and other venues throughout South West England. We will be visiting the Almagro Festival, Spain in July 2015 and touring with the house network in the East and South East during October and November.
