Matt Edwards
Matt has designed for theatre, choreography, opera, and film and television as well as creating large scale installation spaces. He has extensive knowledge of construction, scenic art materials and processes as well as design practice. This practical knowledge of construction and painting is invaluable in relating to the production team and knowing how far materials and ideas can be pushed and realised.
His creation of the space begins with elements which are intrinsic to the script, and his costume design develops from relating to one or two of the characters who will inhabit the space.
He collaborates closely with directors to draw out and represent the essence of the piece often inspired and reflecting the narrative and emotions through colour, texture and form.
He has a keen interest in the illustration of children’s books, which he is developing alongside theatre work.
