Fiona Watt

In both contemporary and classic work she responds to each writer’s unique use of language, endeavouring to design environments that offer directors and actors space to explore.


Her credits include work for Sherman Cymru, the Traverse, Nottingham Playhouse, Jerwood Theatre Upstairs ( Royal Court), Lyric Belfast, Bolton Octagon, the Tron, Palace Theatre , Watford and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.


Outlying Islands (Traverse) won a Fringe First at the Edinburgh Festival before transferring to the Royal Court and the World Stages Festival, Toronto.


She also has extensive touring experience that has included UK and Highlands and Islands tours for the Traverse.


Since basing her studio in the massive Thames Gateway regeneration zone, she has also started to explore making new work in response to themes of identity and ownership of space in collaboration with artists from other disciplines.


She has exhibited her work at Time and Space (RCA), 2D>3D ( Sheffield Millenium Galleries and UK tour) and Collaborators : Design for Performance ( Nottingham Trent University and V & A, London).
