The Creative Retreat offers excellent arts studios, charming and comfortable self-catering accommodation and a range of arts courses throughout the year. Based in the tranquil fishing village of Gardenstown on Scotland’s stunning Banffshire Coast, we extend a warm welcome.
For arts businesses
We offer four light and airy studio spaces for development weeks and company retreats out of the city, and accommodation for up to fourteen in our delightful 18th century seaside cottages. Be inspired by the views from the studios, explore the wild beaches, wander the cliff top walks and indulge in fantastic cake from the local bakers. Go back to work nourished and invigorated.
For families and friends
Use our fully equipped studios to explore your creativity under your own steam, take advantage of the art courses we offer throughout the year, or let us create a mini tuition package just for you. Look for dolphins in the bay, take a boat trip and watch the sun set out to sea, then come inside to wood burning fires and fabulous sofas. Just relax in one of two self catering cottages designed with your comfort in mind.
